Gameplay Overhaul / New Mechanics
5 minute read
Outlining thoughts for later. Each mod will be expanded upon greatly. Currently, the mods here are not in order of importance. They will be re-organized. This section will contain a lot of mods at first, and I will slowly separate them into more distinct sections that make sense.
Adjustable Attribute Consumption
This mod is used to prevent us from consuming Stamina while outside of combat! This allows you to sprint as long as you would like, until you enter a combat state. Horses will still consume stamina always!
Lawless - A Bandit Overhaul
“Lawless is intended to be a complete overhaul of bandit enemies in Skyrim and Solstheim. This mod introduces 13 new bandit archetypes inspired by previous TES titles, all with unique strengths and weaknesses, as well as additional tiers for bandit spawns, leading to more diverse and powerful enemies throughout the game. All bandits have received stat and perk adjustments that fit their respective roles as enemies.”
Succinctly put above, you will find a large variety in Bandit attack styles, spells, and more. They will also level with you to a larger degree than vanilla bandits.
Loki’s Wade in Water
This mod causes you to walk slower and slower, the deeper you get into water before swimming. This is a fantastic addition in my opinion, making you consider whether it’s a good idea to step into water during combat, as well as providing an immersion boost when simply exploring.

Open World Loot
“The goal of OWL is to provide an OPEN WORLD and immersive experience, let the player have a sense of progression as well as obtaining believable and balanced loots throughout your adventure and exploration.”
To put it simply, OWL will stop Skyrim from distributing very high-level loot to most enemies, even if you are a very high level yourself. This creates a much more believable world, where you will only rarely find very high value weapons. As part of the tweaks this mod list contains, we have added an IMMENSE amount of new weapons and armor to all the leveled lists in the game, so the “weaker” equipment you will find on most enemies will be of a very large variety!
Molag’s Will - Vampire Overhaul
Molag’s Will introduces a comprehensive skill tree for vampires, featuring 15 unique perks that become accessible as players embrace their vampiric nature. By feeding, aging, and defeating foes, vampires unlock powerful abilities, enhancing the vampire gameplay experience.
Custom Skills - VIGILANT
An add-on for the VIGILANT quest mod, this introduces a dedicated perk tree for the Vigilants of Stendarr faction. Players can acquire perks effective against undead, ghosts, vampires, and Daedra, enriching role-playing opportunities for those aligned against the aforementioned.
Different Casting Time
This mod adjusts spellcasting speeds based on the player’s proficiency in the respective magical school. Novice mages experience slower casting times, reflecting their inexperience, while seasoned mages benefit from quicker spell execution. This system adds depth to magical combat, rewarding players for developing their skills.
Dragon War - A Dragon Overhaul
This overhaul enhances dragon encounters by improving their AI, introducing unpredictable combat behaviors, and adding new shouts. Dragons become more formidable and less predictable, providing a challenging and immersive experience for players.
The Dragonborn’s Bestiary
This mod adds a custom menu that allows players to collect information about the creatures they encounter, detailing their strengths and weaknesses. The base mod covers an immense amount of creatures, including those from the base game, Dawnguard, Dragonborn DLCs, and a variety of mods. Further, work has been done with this modlist to ensure all creatures one will encounter has a bestiary entry. This feature encourages exploration and provides valuable insights into Skyrim’s diverse fauna.
Dealing with Backstories
Enhancing character creation, this mod enables players to define their character’s backstory, including aspects like genetics, familial religious beliefs, childhood activities, and adolescent interests. Choices made will have tangible impacts on your character build. This mod has been heavily integrated into this modlist, with the backtory creation being initiated after leaving the Alternate Perspective starting room. This mod adds depth to role-playing by establishing a character’s history and motivations, and allows you to further refine your character’s build.
Set of Skills - A Skyrim Class Mod
Introducing 47 distinct classes without altering existing skill trees, this mod offers extensive compatibility and customization. You’ll be able to choose a class that aligns with your envisioned playstyle, adding depth and replayability to character development. The skills from this mod have been added as four Custom Perk trees, accessible from the Tween menu.
Immersive Spell Learning - DESTified
This mod transforms spell acquisition by requiring players to study spell tomes over time, rather than instantly learning spells. This approach adds realism and immersion to the magical learning process, making spell mastery a more deliberate endeavor.
Stress and Fear
Implementing a dynamic sanity system, this mod causes characters to develop stress and fears based on combat experiences. These psychological effects influence gameplay, creating personalized narratives. It also introduces a level of realism to combat, as your character may become extremely hindered after an extremely stressful situation.
EVG Traversal + SkyClimb
SkyClimb (powered by EVG Traversal) allows players to perform actions like climbing ledges, scaling walls, and vaulting over obstacles. These additions enhance exploration and movement, making the environment more interactive and accessible.
Realistic AI Detection
Take a Peek - New Stealth Mechanic
This mod introduces a unique stealth ability, allowing players to peer through keyholes to observe the area beyond doors without entering. NPCs may react to this behavior with specific dialogue, enhancing immersion. This feature helps you ensure you won’t be walking into mayhem!
